The Paderewski Chamber Choir was founded in 2012 and its founder and conductor is prof. Marek Gandecki. The choir consists of students of various faculties and specialisations - conducting, composition, instrumental studies, music theory, jazz and stage music, music education, sacred music. All of them, in spite of their different educational backgrounds, share a passion for making music together and discovering new and fascinating choral works.
During the first years of its activity, the choir won the main prizes of the most important choral competitions in Poland, including: twice the Grand Prix of the Choir Nationwide Contest "Legnica Cantat" (2015, 2018) and a special prize at the Stefan Stuligrosz Grand Prix of Polish Choral Music (2018). They also won the Grand Prix of the Grieg International Choir Festival in Bergen (Norway; 2016) and the Grand Prix of the 25th International Choir Festival and Competition of Sacred Music "Cantate Domino" in Kaunas (Lithuania; 2017).
The choir's repertoire includes vocal and vocal-instrumental works from various eras, but the predominant compositions are by contemporary composers. The choir has premiered many works (e.g. in collaboration with the Dresdner Kammerchor), some of which were dedicated to the Poznań choir.
The Paderewski Chamber Choir released a two-CD album entitled Coexistence in 2019, and 2022 brought the album Wiwat dzisiaj Boskiej istności! containing Polish carols and pastorals arranged by outstanding Poznan composers: Andrzej Bielerzewski, Katarzyna Danel, Marek Raczynski and Katarzyna Stroińska-Sierant.
The artistic identity of the choir is formed by Marek Gandecki - conductor, Sławomira Raczyńska - assistant conductor, Przemysław Czekała – vocal care.
